Interlibrary Loans
Interlibrary Loan is a service that allows library staff to better serve the research/information needs of their patrons by providing access to materials held at other institutions.
For access to materials held at another SCAD library, contact the circulation desk at your library. SCAD-Lacoste students should use the Ask a Librarian form. SCAD-eLearning students should use the interlibrary loan forms in the absence of a library nearby. Eligibility Current students, faculty and staff may use ILL. Patrons must have a valid SCAD ID and no outstanding library fines. Cost There is no charge for ILL unless the cost to obtain an item exceeds $20. If the lending institution's charges exceed $20, the patron will be contacted and given the option of paying the difference. Items Available Through ILL:
Materials Unavailable Through ILL:
Plan Ahead The time it takes to obtain an item can vary considerably. It may take two to four weeks for requested items to arrive. Loan Period The load period for an ILL item is determined by the lending library. Unless restricted, one renewal may be requested no later than five days before the due date (no exceptions). Renewals are not guaranteed. The fine for overdue materials is $5 per day, per item. Overdue ILL fines will not be waived for faculty or staff. The Jen Library reserves the right to withhold ILL service from any patron who abuses the ILL policy. Questions Direct questions regarding this service to the Interlibrary Loan coordinator.
